Ahead of Monday’s Premier League match against Fulham, Leicester City will target a return to the performance levels that have seen them rise to fourth in the division, according to England international winger Harvey Barnes.

- Leicester City will be looking to restart their positive Premier League form when they host Fulham on Monday night, says Harvey Barnes
- The Academy graduate spoke of how City will learn from their latest outing in England’s top flight
- The Foxes could return to the Premier League’s summit with a win over Scott Parker’s side, should other results go their way

The Foxes followed last weekend’s league defeat by Liverpool at Anfield with a 3-3 draw against SC Braga at Estádio Municipal de Braga in Group G of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.

Barnes was on target in an entertaining encounter that ultimately guaranteed City safe passage to the competition's Round of 32 stage.

The loss on Merseyside four days prior proved to be their first on the road in 2020/21, and Barnes says now is the time to respond to that result when they welcome Fulham to King Power Stadium on Monday (5:30pm GMT kick-off).

“The season’s got a long, long way to go, and throughout, you’re going to have some disappointing results,” Barnes told LCFC TV. “The most important thing is how you deal with them, and how you learn from them, and how you react to the next game.

“So far, we’ve done that very well, so we’ll definitely be looking to do that again against Fulham, and then going forward as well.

“We were disappointed with how it went there (Anfield). It wasn’t the result that we wanted at all. Performance wise, we knew we weren’t at the levels that we have been all season.

“As we saw last year, we didn’t deal with them defeats well, so for us, this year, it’s about making sure we bounce back from them and continue the good start that we had.”

Barnes knows the Foxes will learn plenty from their latest Premier League outing, and their hard work through the week at Belvoir Drive will be a catalyst in their hunt for a Premier League win that could see them return to the table’s summit.

“Going into that game, we knew how it felt last year after they beat us, so it was about wanting to put that right, and then, of course, when it doesn’t quite go our way and we come off the pitch with that result, it’s so disappointing,” Barnes said of Liverpool.

“I think it’s credit to us so far this week. We’ve tried to put that past us; we’ve learned from it; we know what we didn’t do right, and we’ve got to improve going forward. Hopefully, Fulham will be a great opportunity to do that.”
