Two Academy graduates were involved from the off in the Chairboys' 4-1 victory over Sky Bet Championship rivals Preston North End, with centre-back Knight scoring his first goal for the club with a first-time half-volley, after Admiral Muskwe, on debut, had assisted Fred Onyedinma's opener.
Wycombe are safely into the fourth round, where they will face Premier League opposition in Tottenham Hotspur at Adams Park on the weekend of 23 January.
Over in Belgium's Jupiler Pro League, OH Leuven stunned Anderlecht, beating the 34-time champions 1-0 at King Power at Den Dreef Stadium, courtesy of an 87th-minute penalty converted by Thomas Henry.
City winger Kamal Sowah started and played the full game for Leuven, while Academy graduate Josh Eppiah came off the bench for the final 13 minutes, replacing Kristiyan Malinov.
The result moves Leuven up to fourth in their first campaign back in Belgium's top division and above Vincent Kompany's Anderlecht side on goal difference.
Elsewhere, there was heartbreak for George Hirst, who played 43 minutes of Rotherham United's 2-1 FA Cup defeat by Everton at Goodison Park, which went to extra-time after a second-half equaliser from the Millers' Matthew Olosunde.
Matty James was also on the losing side, making his debut for Coventry City in their 2-0 reverse at home to Norwich City. The game was wrapped up with two goals inside the first seven minutes, while James was a second-half substitute in the 69th minute, replacing Ben Sheaf.
Algerian attacker Rachid Ghezzal, on the other hand, assisted the equaliser in Beşiktaş' Turkish Süper Lig draw with Hatayspor on Sunday, setting up Cyle Larin to make it 2-2 just before the break.
After starting the encounter, which saw Beşiktaş remain top and ahead of Fenerbahçe on goal difference, Ghezzal left the field in the 68th minute, for former Tottenham winger Georges-Kévin Nkoudou.
The latest outing for a City loanee came on Tuesday evening, meanwhile, as young midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall played from start to finish in Luton Town's 2-0 defeat by Queens Park Rangers at Kenilworth Road.
Dewsbury-Hall, 22, has now made 17 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters, scoring once, as he continues his mightily impressive form for Nathan Jones' side.
