- LCFC Women are preparing to compete in their first Continental Tyres League Cup Quarter-Final on Thursday
- Fellow Championship side Crystal Palace are the Foxes' opponents on Thursday evening (8pm kick-off)
- City are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions heading into the cup clash at Hayes Lane
- Jonathan Morgan provides his pre-match thoughts and says the team are remaining grounded by taking each game as it comes

One of three FA Women's Championship teams remaining in the competition, Leicester travel to south London aiming to make history once again and reach the semi-finals for the very first time.

Although City have already emerged victorious from Hayes Lane once this campaign, winning 4-1 in October, Morgan is wary of how that result could provide their opponents with fresh motivation for this cup encounter.

"We've just finished our final training session and we're very aware this is a massive game for both ourselves and Crystal Palace," he told LCFC.com after completing preparations for the last-eight tie.

The Foxes showed their attacking qualities by putting four goals past Crystal Palace last time out.

"Palace have got nothing to lose on Thursday night and we're making sure that we're ready for it and that we've done all our homework and preparation. Hopefully the occasion won't get the better of us.

"Every game is a fresh game and Palace are going to be thinking: 'Let's make sure what happened last time doesn't happen to us again'. Obviously it is a positive in the sense that if we play well we can be successful.

"But at the same time, it's not a game that is in our thoughts because we take each game as it comes and we treat each game on individual merit."

The Foxes are currently on a run of eight games unbeaten in all competitions ahead of facing the Eagles, including a penalty shootout victory over Birmingham City to progress into the quarter-finals.

In the league, meanwhile, Leicester recorded a sixth consecutive victory by seeing off Sheffield United 2-1 in the first game back since the winter break.

Morgan continued: "I think Sheffield [United] was a massive game for us because after the Club announced us moving into Belvoir Drive over Christmas, having our own elite training facility, it naturally puts a target on your back with having such great facilities.

"So, there was a lot more at stake against Sheffield [United] than we would have liked, obviously with the league positioning as well, but the fact that we came out very comfortable winners, it definitely put us in a good position for Palace.

"We could have had a few more goals if we had put them away against Sheffield [United], but if we can pick up another win it builds the momentum going into Liverpool on Sunday."

We have a fully fit squad for the first time this season, apart from Demi Lambourne, who is our long-term injury, but everybody else is available and raring to go.

Although the Reds will provide another tough Championship test for the league leaders this weekend, Morgan says all eyes are firmly focused on Crystal Palace and ensuring that, whoever plays, the team put in a performance worthy of progressing.

"We're very much taking every game very seriously," LCFC Women's manager added. "We're fortunate to have a very strong squad with some cracking footballers who have all clearly been doing very well for the first half of the season.

"There will be a couple of changes but because these players are coming in for their opportunities, it shows our squad depth, that we can call upon anybody at any point and hopefully remain competitive, which we'll find out on Thursday night.
