City's early lead, courtesy of goals from Callum Wright and Thanawat Suengchitthawon, was wiped out by half-time before Jake Wakeling and Suengchitthawon's second of the night swung the game back in the hosts' favour.

After sealing three points in the first Premier League 2 Division 1 fixture of the calendar year and moving up to ninth in the standings, Daley-Campbell felt it was a job well done, particularly in the second half.

"I think the lads did well today," the full-back told LCFC TV post-match. "I thought they dug in deep, considering the first half wasn't the best.

The boys had a great reaction, that's why we managed to keep a clean sheet in a second half and score two more goals.

"But I think, in the changing room, [Steve Beaglehole] gave us a bit of stick. He was just disappointed that we were 2-0 up and we let it go so easily with two silly goals that we could have prevented.

"The boys had a great reaction, that's why we managed to keep a clean sheet in a second half and score two more goals."

After defeat to Tranmere Rovers in the Papa John's Trophy last week, the 19-year-old was pleased to be able to put that disappointment behind them quickly and respond in a positive manner.

He also picked out Jake Wakeling for praise after the forward notched a goal and an assist during the victory over United.

"He's progressed massively since he's come in," the defender said of Wakeling. "He's a player that you know is going to score. He's going to give 100 per cent, always, so it's always good to have a player like that in our team.

"I think the boys just wanted to play because after the Tranmere game we haven't had time to react so this was our time to show that we are a good team."

It was the perfect way to begin at LCFC Training Ground, which is set to host 11 of the Development Squad's remaining 12 league fixtures in 2020/21.

Daley-Campbell hopes this result can be a momentum-builder for the Foxes, making the new setting a fortress.

He added: "This is our first actual competitive game at the new training ground and we just want to make sure we win every game here until the end of the season and try and keep an unbeaten run going.

"All of our games are here, now. I think it's to our advantage, but really, we just have to knuckle down and make sure we win every game."
