Ten Leicester City loanees were in action over the past week, including midfielder Kamal Sowah, who netted for Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on Wednesday.

- Kamal Sowah scored in a 1-1 draw for Oud-Heverlee Leuven at Charleroi
- Daniel Iversen's Preston took four points from a possible six in the Sky Bet Championship
- George Hirst and Kiernan Dewsbury Hall were also both in action in the second tier
- Josh Knight and Admiral Muskwe started in the Emirates FA Cup for Wycombe against Spurs
- Rachid Ghezzal, Matty James, Josh Eppiah and Filip Benković also featured

In the 12th minute of their clash with Charleroi, Sowah gave OHL the lead after latching onto Siebe Schrijvers' pass, but the home side hit back at Stade du Pays de Charleroi as Dorian Dessoleil restored parity on the scoresheet, leaving Marc Brys' men sixth in Belgium's top tier.

Leuven slipped to a 3-0 defeat at home to Gent on Sunday, however, with Sowah again in the starting line-up and Josh Eppiah making a substitute appearance, while Filip Benković was an unused substitute in both games.

Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen, on the other hand, kept his first clean sheet for new loan club Preston North End as the Lancashire outfit defeated Birmingham City 1-0 at St. Andrews Trillion Trophy Stadium last week.

Scott Sinclair's goal just after the hour-mark was enough for three points in what was Iversen's second appearance for the Lilywhites.

And the former Denmark Under-21 international recorded back-to-back shutouts by keeping out high-flying Reading at Deepdale on Sunday, with Lucas Joao missing from the penalty spot.

Sheffield Wednesday are Preston's next Sky Bet Championship opponents, with their clash at Hillsborough coming up on Saturday (3pm kick-off). Preston currently sit 11th in the second tier.

Leicester loanee Josh Knight shields the ball from Erik Lamela during the FA Cup tie at Adams Park.

Josh Knight and Admiral Muskwe were both in Emirates FA Cup action for Wycombe Wanderers, who put up a brave fight against Premier League opposition, but eventually lost 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

The home side took the lead at Adams Park thanks to Fred Onyedinma's goal, before Gareth Bale levelled the tie and three late goals saw José Mourinho's side progress into the fifth round.

Knight played the full 90 minutes, while Muskwe also started and was replaced by Scott Kashket in the 73rd minute. Wycombe will return to league action on Saturday, travelling to Brentford (3pm kick-off).

Rachid Ghezzal has contributed nine assists in 13 league games for Beşiktaş.

After being an unused substitute in Beşiktaş' 4-1 triumph over Fatih Karagümrük, Rachid Ghezzal featured from the start during the Turkey club's 2-1 win at home to Göztepe on Sunday.

Behind at half-time, the Algerian winger assisted Adem Ljajić's equaliser before his 64th-minute replacement, Gökhan Töre, set up Vincent Aboubakar for the winner.

Those results keep the Black Eagles top of the Turkish Süper Lig, two points in front of second-placed Fenerbahçe, ahead of hosting Trabzonspor at Vodafone Arena on Sunday 31 January (4pm kick-off).

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall moves past Mason Mount during Luton's clash with Chelsea.

Luton Town loanee Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was in the starting XI for their game against Brentford last Wednesday, but could not prevent the Hatters going down 1-0 at Brentford Community Stadium.

Saman Ghoddos' 14th-minute strike proved to be the difference in west London, with Dewsbury-Hall coming off in the closing stages.

The midfielder, who has scored two league goals in his last four appearances, also played 90 minutes of Luton's FA Cup Fourth Round defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Despite Jordan Clark giving Town a lifeline in the first half, Tammy Abraham's hat-trick saw off the Sky Bet Championship club, with Chelsea winning 3-1.

The 22-year-old could be back in action again on Saturday when Luton travel to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers (3pm kick-off).

Matty James played the full 90 minutes as Coventry defeated Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday.

Elsewhere in the Championship, forward George Hirst came off the bench in Rotherham United's thrilling 3-3 draw with Stoke City last Tuesday.

Michael Smith, who was later replaced by Hirst in the 89th-minute, scored as the Millers went 3-1 up at New York Stadium, only for the visitors to find the net twice in the second half and level the scores.

On Wednesday, meanwhile, Hirst made a cameo appearance from the bench as Rotherham were beaten 3-0 by Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium, courtesy of goals from Matt Crooks, Smith and Ryan Giles.

Finally, on the same evening, Matty James' third outing for Coventry City ended in a 2-0 success over Sheffield Wednesday - with Viktor Gyökeres and Jamie Allen on the scoresheet - leaving the Sky Blues 17th in the Championship.
