The Foxes take on the Gunners on Sunday 28 February (12pm GMT kick-off) and will be showing their support to the initiative which exists to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation gender identity and expression at all levels of football.

A year-round campaign, Football v Homophobia’s month of action takes place every February, and this year the Club have worked closely with Foxes Pride to profile some of its members and to raise awareness of its LGBTQ+ supporters.

The group – who have over 200 members – work with LCFC to tackle homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia in football, while promoting the welfare of its LGBTQ+ fans and ensuring King Power Stadium is a safe and welcoming environment.

In December 2020, in support of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign, James Justin and Sophie Howard joined members of Foxes Pride on a Zoom call to learn more about their work and what it is like to be an LGBTQ+ football supporter.

Earlier this month, a number of staff members also held a Zoom call with Foxes Pride to find out what more the Club can do to support the group.

The Football v Homophobia initiative was formed by the Justin Campaign in 2010, a small voluntary run campaign launched in 2008 to demonstrate that 10 years after the tragic suicide of Justin Fashanu in 1998, homophobia was still hugely prevalent in both grassroots and professional football.

Should you experience any form of discrimination in a Leicester City setting, please contact help@lcfc.co.uk or call 0344 815 5000 (option 4).

Furthermore, you can also report any form of discrimination or hate crime by texting the word ‘FOXES’ to 60066.
