Leicester City’s Under-18s were denied all three U18 Premier League points as Chelsea Under-18s claimed a late 2-2 draw at LCFC Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Just three days before their FA Youth Cup Fourth Round away tie with Exeter City, the young Foxes were aiming to return to winning ways after a 3-0 reverse to Brighton & Hove Albion in Seagrave a week prior.

Before that defeat, City had gone five games in all competitions without loss, beating Norwich City, Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday – the latter result in the FA Youth Cup – along the way.

The hosts struck the woodwork twice early on, before Joe Wormleighton was brought down by Prince Adegoke in the Chelsea box to earn a penalty, which was dispatched successfully by Brandon Cover on 27 minutes.

Bashir Humphreys then struck the crossbar for the Blues before the interval, but it was City who headed into half-time with a one-goal advantage.

Joe Haigh was next to hit the upright with a 25-yard free-kick, but he was successful from his next attempt on goal as he converted Silko Thomas’ cross to level matters on 68 minutes.

But five minutes later, Terell Pennant struck back for Leicester, finding the net from Twanda Maswanhise’s pass to restore his side’s advantage.

However, Chelsea snatched a point in the first minute of stoppage time as Myles Peart-Harris nodded in Jimi Tauriainen’s corner to ensure it finished level at LCFC Training Ground.
