- Youri Tielemans scored the winner on 63 minutes, sending 6,000 City fans into ecstasy

The Academy graduate started the Wembley Stadium showdown and was tasked with keeping Chelsea’s fearsome attack at bay before coming off late on as City defended their 1-0 lead.

That came courtesy of Youri Tielemans’ wonderstrike, which ultimately won the tie for the Foxes on one of the most memorable days in the Club’s history.

Thomas, 19, told LCFC TV: “I’m speechless, really. Winning the FA Cup, it’s put the Club in the history books. We’ve always wanted to do that.

“We know that we’ve not been to the final for a very long time, but to come here today and show the quality that we have, we came away with a 1-0 win. To take the trophy home is unbelievable.

“The changing room is absolutely buzzing. I can’t really explain the celebrations, but we’re going to have a good night! There’s no better feeling.

“Even playing at Wembley is unbelievable, but to come here and win is a different story. It was a great performance from the lads, and Youri… what a finish!”

Backed by over 6,000 Foxes fans, Thomas says the support on show got City over the line in what proved to be a cagey yet joyous final in London.

“It helps us as a team,” he said. “The way we play, with fans behind us, is a lot more positive. They gave us a boost towards the end of the game where we were holding onto a 1-0 lead, and they were chanting away all game.

“As soon as the goal went in, we had them behind us and we held out and won. Credit to them for turning up today.

“Obviously, they’d have loved it, but what a day. My voice is gone, and the lads are over the moon. What a performance, what a result.”
