Ricardo Pereira says Leicester City will reflect on Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea before focusing their full attention on their final Premier League game of 2020/21.

The Foxes were unable to replicate Saturday’s 1-0 Emirates FA Cup Final win over the Blues, and instead were beaten by a one-goal margin at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Rüdiger’s close-range finish and a Jorginho penalty proved to be enough for Thomas Tuchel’s side, despite Kelechi Iheanacho coming off the bench to pull one back for City.

However, with a Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur up next to decide Leicester’s final league position, Ricardo says now is the time to focus on the task at hand.

“[We’re] disappointed, of course,” Ricardo told LCFC TV. “We wanted to win. We wanted to keep third place. Unfortunately, we couldn't. We lost, but we still have a game to go and we'll do our best.

“From the outside, it was tough. The intensity was high in the game, especially for them, having fans here gave them even more strength for the game, more force. But it is what it is. Now, we have to think of the next game.

There will be no change in post-match routine for City, according to Ricardo, as they analyse their clash with Chelsea before dissecting the strengths and weaknesses of Tottenham ahead of Sunday’s game.

“We'll do the same as we did after the game (the FA Cup Final),” he said. “We celebrated, we had a day to celebrate with the team, with our families.

“But then, the next day, the thoughts were on this game and that's what we'll do. We'll think about this game today and tomorrow we'll think about the next game.”
