Winning LCFC Women’s Supporters’ Player of the Season and Goal of the Season at the Club’s Annual End of Season Awards was a proud moment for Natasha Flint.

- Natasha Flint was named 2020/21 Supporters’ Player of the Season at the Club’s End of Season Awards
- The LCFC Women forward also collected the Goal of the Season prize for her second debut strike against Blackburn Rovers Ladies
- Flint scored 17 goals in the FA Women’s Championship as the Club earned promotion as second-tier champions
- She feels the hard work is paying off as the team prepare for their first season in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League

It has been a highly successful first season as a Fox for the former Blackburn Rovers striker, who arrived at City in the summer of 2020 looking to fire the Club into the Barclays FA Women's Super League.

And with 21 goals in all competitions, including 17 FA Women’s Championship strikes, she has done exactly that, as Leicester claimed the second-tier title with two games to spare, scoring a league-high 54 goals in the process.

The 24-year-old was keen to praise the support she has received from afar over the course of 2020/21, which she believes helped push the team on to clinch promotion to the WSL for the very first time.

“It’s massive,” the forward commented, speaking after receiving news of her awards double. “I couldn’t thank the supporters enough.

I’ve won two awards and it’s always good to be nominated for awards, it feels like the hard work pays off. For me as a striker, as always, I just want to score as many goals as I can.

“Even though they’ve not been there this year, I’ve been here for one season and so to get that award from them, I’m pleased, I’m really happy to receive it.

“I’ve won two awards and it’s always good to be nominated for awards, it feels like the hard work pays off. For me as a striker, as always, I just want to score as many goals as I can and I’m hoping I can win us a few games again next season.”

Flint’s second goal in the opening day victory over Blackburn Rovers has won the Goal of the Season prize and she admitted it was a special way to cap off her City debut, while she also picked out several other favourite strikes from the title-winning campaign.

“I’ve got a few best goals,” the former England youth international explained. “The winning goal against Crystal Palace (in the League Cup) was probably my favourite goal.

“And then getting the winning goal against Manchester United to get us through to the next round of the FA Cup has probably just overrode that.

“My first goal against Blackburn, followed by my second, which is the one I’ve won the award for, they were two massive goals for me against my old team in my first game for Leicester.

“My aim this year was to come back into full-time football and it was the right time to do it. To be second top goalscorer in the league and top goalscorer at Leicester, that’s a massive achievement for me. It was my individual goal, to get top goalscorer, so I’m really happy with my performances this season.

“I do think going into the league above next year, we’re not just going to go in there to lose games and stay near the bottom of the table, I think we are going to give teams a game and hopefully we can get the results for that.”
