- Belgium qualify for UEFA EURO 2020 Quarter-Finals with a 1-0 success over Portugal on Sunday
- Youri Tielemans was in the starting XI, with Dennis Praet named on the bench in Seville
- Thorgan Hazard’s goal proved to be the difference at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium
- The Red Devils will tackle Italy in the last eight next Friday, before Kasper Schmeichel’s Denmark play Czech Republic a day later
The Leicester City midfielder started the last 16 clash at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, while Foxes team-mate Dennis Praet was an unused substitute for Roberto Martinez’s men.
Thorgan Hazard’s thunderous strike opened the scoring in Seville on 42 minutes and gave Belgium a slender lead at half-time.
It remained that way for the 90 minutes as Tielemans played the full game to help his country secure a place in the semi-finals, winning his 42nd international cap in the process.
The Red Devils will now face Italy in the last eight at Allianz Arena in Munich on Friday 2 July (8pm kick-off).
Kasper Schmeichel is likely to be in action next Saturday, meanwhile, when Denmark take on Czech Republic in Baku for a place in the semi-finals (5pm kick-off).
