Leicester City’s Under-18s were defeated 3-1 by Crystal Palace Under-18s at LCFC Training Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester took an early lead on the opening day of the 2021/22 Premier League U18 South campaign, when Kian Pennant found the net after just seven minutes.

But the hosts were pegged back thanks to a quick-fire double from Victor Akinwale on the cusp of half-time. The Palace forward levelled up the scores on 42 minutes and then grabbed his second to complete the turnaround.

After assisting the visitors' first two goals, Jadan Raymond added a third with 10 minutes to play to seal victory for the Eagles in Seagrave.

City lie 11th in the early Premier League U18 South standings and next up visit Brighton & Hove Albion Under-18s at the Amex Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday 21 August (11am BST kick-off).
