Club Historian John Hutchinson's Links with The Past series continues with a gift presented to Leicester City by Chelsea at the 2021 FA Cup Final.

On 15 May, 2021, Leicester won the FA Cup by defeating the Blues 1-0 in the final at Wembley Stadium. This was the first time that the Club had won the trophy, having lost four previous FA Cup Finals in 1949, 1961, 1963 and 1969.

To mark the occasion, Chelsea presented Leicester City with this teamsheet made of silver and mounted on a plinth. On the front cover, engraved into the silver, is an image of the FA Cup, the club crests of the two teams and the date of the final.

On the back cover of the gift, the names of each player in the Leicester City and Chelsea squads have been engraved. The words on the silver plate on the front of plinth read, ‘2020-2021 Emirates FA Cup Final. Chelsea FC v Leicester City FC. Saturday 15 May 2021’.

This is now on display on the second floor of King Power Stadium next to the newly refurbished Champions Club.

As well as the historic trophy itself, there are several other items of memorabilia from the victory at Wembley which are now also part of the Club’s Heritage collection. These include shirts and pennants swapped by each club at kick off.

Some of these items are also on display at the stadium, alongside the silver teamsheet.
