Already capped six times at youth level for England, the talented left-back started from the off, where Lee Carsley’s outfit began their Group G qualification campaign with three points.

First-half strikes from Rhian Brewster and Cole Palmer proved to be enough for the young Lions in Milton Keynes.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel played 90 minutes as Denmark made it six wins from six in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification Group F.

A stunning first half at Parken Stadium saw the Danes storm into a three-goal lead over Israel courtesy of goals from Yussuf Poulsen, Simon Kjaer and Andreas Skov Olsen.

Then, after the break, efforts from Thomas Delaney and Andreas Cornelius wrapped up the triumph in Schmeichel's hometown of Copenhagen.

Denmark have now won all six games in their pool.

Over in Group G, Çağlar Söyüncü was dismissed in the opening 45 minutes as Turkey were beaten for the first time in their pool by Netherlands at Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam.

Davy Klassen scored inside the first minute before Memphis Depay’s brace handed the hosts a 3-0 lead, and then Söyüncü was shown a second yellow card just before the interval.

Depay completed his hat-trick at the start of the second half, and then Guus Til and Donyell Malen extended the hosts' advantage, while former Fox Cengiz Ünder pulled one back for the Crescent-Stars.

Finally, in World Cup qualification Group H, midfielder Papy Mendy was an unused substitute as Senegal beat Congo 3-1 thanks to strikes from Boulaye Dia, Ismaïla Sarr and Sadio Mané.

Mendy, who has been capped four times by the Lions of Teranga this year, saw his side make it two victories from as many games.

On Monday, meanwhile, Development Squad goalkeeper Brad Young was an unused substitute for England's Under-20s as Joe Gelhardt netted a hat-trick, with Clinton Mola, Jenson Weir and Jesuran Rak-Sakyi also on the scoresheet, in a 6-1 win over Romania Under-20s at St. George's Park.
