Straight back into Premier League 2 Division 1 action following their excellent 3-1 triumph over Everton on Monday, the Foxes face another tough task against third-place Brighton later this week.

The Seagulls held an unbeaten record in their first four matches before defeat to Manchester United ended that run. City, meanwhile, moved up to ninth in the early standings following their maiden success of the campaign.

Last season, City emerged from the south coast with all three points, triumphing 4-0 in October 2020, including a brace from Jake Wakeling, who took his tally for 2021/22 to three with a goal against Everton.

Coach Ben Petty previewed this encounter with LCFC TV: “They are going to have to recover quickly now because it’s a very tough game against Brighton on Friday night, so it doesn’t give us a lot of preparation time. It’s going to be a different sort of test.

“Brighton are a team that like to dominate the ball and they play very much like their first team. They’ve invested heavily in their squad; they are right up at the top of the league at the moment.

“I think we’re going to have to go there with a lot of energy and organisation and hopefully we’ve given them a few things to think about with our performance (against Everton). We’ll look forward to it. It’s a great challenge for us.”

Keep up to date with proceedings in Brighton as they happen by following the Club’s official Twitter account, which will house team news and live in-game updates.

A round-up of the action will be posted on LCFC.com after full-time, meanwhile, as well as post-match reaction from the Foxes camp.

Goals and extended highlights from the PL2 clash are set to be published on LCFC TV in the days following the fixture.
