- Leicester City’s Development Squad drew 1-1 with Chelsea Under-23s on Saturday
- Wanya Marcal-Madivadua scored an impressive equaliser at LCFC Training Ground
- The midfielder says it was a solid team performance from the Foxes
- He believes they can take confidence from the game and build on the positives

The visitors took the lead during a tight encounter when Bryan Fiabema found the net on 63 minutes, though they held that advantage for just six minutes as Marcal-Madivadua applied the finishing touch to Sammy Braybrooke’s cross, levelling the scores at LCFC Training Ground.

Showing character and belief to come from behind in the second half, the 19-year-old was pleased to add his name to the scoresheet and felt it was a good reaction from the team after last weekend’s defeat to Manchester City.

“It was great,” he told LCFC TV after the final whistle. “Obviously it was a disappointing result last week against Man City but we came in, trained hard all week, worked on our philosophy and produced a great performance against Chelsea.

“To get a draw against a top side was great. It was just resilience really. We dominated the ball, and it was a well-deserved goal as well.

“I got told at half-time to make more forward runs and me and Sammy [Braybrooke] have that connection so as soon as I saw the ball go back to him, I asked for it, he crossed it in and it’s just a lucky finish, I guess.”

West Ham United Under-23s are the next visitors to LCFC Training Ground on Monday 1 November (7pm GMT kick-off) as the Foxes youngsters look to return to winning ways in Premier League 2 Division 1.

Both of City’s triumphs so far this term have come on home soil and Marcal-Madivadua is keen to extend that run when the Hammers arrive in Seagrave, following a solid display against Chelsea.

The midfielder added: “We could have had a few more goals tonight, maybe two or three, but we kept them out of our box, we defended well, and it was a great performance.

“Once the ball went in, we just got together as a group and said, ‘no more goals like last week’, we kept it at one and tried to get one or two for ourselves.

“We can take confidence from it and start building from here. We need to keep going and hopefully we can get a win and the three points.”
