The City No.29 opened the scoring at Heroes National Stadium after 34 minutes, before Rangers forward Fashion Sakala netted a hat-trick in Lusaka, with Daka assisting his first goal of the game.

The result, aided by Daka’s eighth goal for Zambia, means Chipolopolo move up to second in Group B of Africa’s World Cup qualification pool with one match to play.

In the same competition, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi both started in Nigeria’s 2-0 success against Liberia at Stade Ibn Batouta in Tangier.

Iheanacho, who scored in the previous clash with Liberia, played 87 minutes, while Ndidi starred from start to finish as penalties from Victor Osimhen and former Fox Ahmed Musa - the first won by Iheanacho - saw the Super Eagles maintain their place at the Group C summit.

Not long after the full-time whistle in Morocco, Çağlar Söyüncü helped Turkey to a comprehensive 6-0 win against 10-man Gibraltar at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium in Istanbul.

Kerem Akturkoglu struck on 11 minutes, and then Gibraltar’s Jayce Olivero received a straight red card before Halil Dervisoglu scored twice before the interval.

Patson Daka scored his eighth goal for Zambia on Saturday.

After the break, Söyüncü himself went close to finding the net on two occasions, before Merih Demiral, Serdar Dursun and Mert Muldur all contributed to the scoreline.

Later that night, full-back Timothy Castagne started for Belgium in their 3-1 success over Estonia at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels, as the Red Devils secured their spot in the 2022 finals in Qatar.

In Group E of Europe's World Cup qualification pool, Christian Benteke struck after only 11 minutes, then Yannick Carrasco made it 2-0 before Erik Sorga pulled one back for the visitors. Thorgan Hazard, however, added gloss to Belgium's scoreline late on.

Shot-stopper Danny Ward was also in action in the same group as he played 90 minutes for Wales in their 5-1 win against Belarus in Cardiff, before being replaced by Wayne Hennessey in added time.

A double from Aaron Ramsey sandwiched Neco Williams' 20th-minute effort, while Ben Davies made it 4-0. Only Artem Kontsevoy's 87th-minute goal denied Ward a clean sheet. Connor Roberts then restored his side's four-goal advantage with a minute to play.

Finally, in an international youth friendly, young duo Ben Nelson and Sammy Braybrooke’s England Under-18s encountered Belgium, having started against Netherlands on Thursday night.

Although the fixture finished goalless, it was settled via a penalty shootout, with the young Lions emerging victorious at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain.
