With plenty of football to be played before the New Year, the Foxes welcome Newcastle United to King Power Stadium on Sunday (2pm kick-off). The Magpies, too, will view the coming weeks as an opportunity to build momentum - but Albrighton says City will go into the clash with confidence.

"With the takeover news earlier this season and now the appointment of Eddie Howe as their new manager, they’re obviously a different force now," he said this week. "It’s still the same squad of players though, and we know enough about them to get our information and prepare for the game.

"If we’re at our best, and play in the way that we know we can, then I’m confident we’ll have enough to take all three points."

Leicester have endured a frustrating run of results, with a draw at Southampton being followed by defeats against Aston Villa and Napoli. However, with the backing of the Foxes faithful on Filbert Way, Albrighton says all focus is now on securing positive results as quickly as possible.

When King Power Stadium is rocking it helps us massively, so we’re looking forward to getting back out there in front of the home fans.

"We looked at it the other day," he added. "Despite not performing as well as we can and not picking up as many points as we feel we should have in the first half of the season, we’re still not too far adrift from where we want to be. We have a good opportunity to pick up points quickly over the Christmas period.

"If we can do that, and get within touching distance of where we want to be, then we can go into the New Year with confidence and really push on in the second half of the season.

"When King Power Stadium is rocking it helps us massively, so we’re looking forward to getting back out there in front of the home fans. The away games we’ve had recently are games we feel we should have won, so when we return home, we need to do everything we can to get all three points."
