Leicester City’s Under-18s continued their impressive run of form by defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on Saturday.

The Foxes youngsters came into the game off the back of a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Youth Cup last Tuesday and were also unbeaten in their previous six league matches, winning five.

That streak continued as they made light work of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre with a trio of second-half goals.

All three strikes came from Chris Popov, who broke the deadlock 11 minutes after the interval and doubled his and City’s tally with just under 20 minutes to play.

His hat-trick and the three points were secured six minutes later as Henry Cartwright set up the in-form forward, who also netted at Villa Park in midweek.

The result maintains Leicester’s position of third in Premier League U18 South, level on 25 points along with top of the table Chelsea after 11 games of the season.

Following the Christmas break, the Foxes, coached by Adam Barradell, host Birmingham City at LCFC Training Ground in their first fixture of 2022 on Saturday 8 January (12pm GMT kick-off).
