Chelsea were crowned champions earlier this year, while Birmingham City were relegated, to be replaced next term in the top tier by Liverpool. Ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, here is what we know so far...
When are the fixtures released?
The full fixture list for the new WSL season, which will see City compete against 11 other top-flight teams over 22 matches, is set to be announced during the afternoon of Tuesday 12 July.
When does the season start?
The new WSL campaign kicks off a week later than last term, due to international games taking place. The first round of fixtures will be played over the weekend of 9-11 September.
Is there a mid-season break this year?
Yes. There will be no WSL games between 9 December and 13 January. It's worth noting that games will continue to be played while the men's FIFA World Cup takes place in Qatar, with WSL fixtures scheduled for 3-4 December and 10-11 December.
How about Women's Football Weekend?
The celebration of women's football at all levels will take place over the weekend of 25-26 March.
How about the final day?
Leicester's last game of the season will fall on the weekend of 27-28 May. This means the football calendar will end with WSL football and not the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Final, which is set to take place over 13-14 May.
