- Leicester City defender Jonny Evans has been confirmed as the new Club captain

- A decision on City's new vice-captain will be made shortly, the Northern Irishman added
The former Manchester United defender has made 138 appearances for the Club – lifting the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield. With nearly 500 outings during his whole career, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winner is a vastly experienced member of Leicester's squad.
Kasper Schmeichel, who wore the captain's armband last season, left the Foxes this week after 11 years of outstanding service at King Power Stadium. Rodgers, speaking to the national media on Friday, has since announced that Evans will be the latest figure to hold the vital role.
"It will be Jonny Evans," the manager said. "Jonny represents the real collective standard and values of this group of players, what we stand for. He’s a player with great experience and he has huge respect in the changing room for what he's achieved how he conducts himself.
"He was the natural guy to step forward [and become captain]."
Rodgers said a decision will be made shortly on who will take up the vice-captain role, previously held by Evans.
