Tom Cannon could play some role for Leicester City at Middlesbrough on Saturday, says Enzo Maresca.

- Leicester City face Middlesbrough at Riverside Stadium on Saturday (3pm GMT kick-off)
- Manager Enzo Maresca is hopeful that Tom Cannon could be involved this weekend
- The striker is yet to make his first appearance for the Club
- Yunus Akgün, Wilfred Ndidi, Dennis Praet and Callum Doyle remain unavailable

The former Everton striker, who joined the Club this summer, is yet to make his debut for the Foxes due to injury, but has been training with his new team-mates over recent weeks.

Although it's unlikely he'll play the full game in the North East, the Manager is hopeful that Cannon could feature this weekend. Yunus Akgün, Wilfred Ndidi and Dennis Praet also remain out, although the latter is now in group training.

Tom Cannon is in contention to feature at Middlesbrough.

Defender Callum Doyle, on loan from Premier League champions Manchester City, is also still unavailable for Leicester.

On Cannon's condition, Maresca told reporters on Friday: "The last time, he had two sessions, [ahead of] the last game. Now he’s with us, so he could be in the squad tomorrow. He’s back. He had more or less one week with us.

[Ndidi and Yunus] are still out. Hopefully we can have both after the international break. Dennis is joining us for part of the session already, so hopefully he can have him after the break.

"After two months, it’s a long time. Day by day, he’s getting fit. He could be with us tomorrow but not for 90 minutes."

Providing an update on some other players awaiting a return to senior action, the Italian continued: "[Ndidi and Yunus] are still out. Hopefully we can have both after the international break.

"Dennis is joining us for part of the session already, so hopefully he can have him after the break.

"Callum is still out and that’s all."
