Leicester City have bounced back to the Premier League at the first attempt after their promotion from the Sky Bet Championship was confirmed!

Following Tuesday’s brilliant 5-0 victory over Southampton at King Power Stadium – with Abdul Fatawu hitting a hat-trick on Filbert Way – Leeds United’s defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Friday means that City are now unassailable in the division’s automatic promotion places.

Currently on 94 points, the Foxes have already secured the Club’s third-best ever points tally as they now eye an eighth Championship title.

It’s been a momentous campaign under Enzo Maresca, with Leicester making the best-ever start to a second-tier season, also matching a Club record for consecutive league wins (9).

Winning seven successive away games between August and October – another LCFC first – City also currently boast a goal difference of +47.

The latter weeks of the season have seen the promotion race tighten, but a host of spirited, gutsy displays helped City get over the line with two matches still to play.

Maresca’s men will be in action in clashes with Preston North End (A) and Blackburn Rovers (H) – the latter a chance for the Blue Army to join players and staff in toasting a remarkable year.

‘Straight back up, straight back up, Leicester City!’
