Wes Morgan will not feature in Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Watford, according to Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare.

The skipper missed the clashes with Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion after injuring his hamstring during the 1-1 UEFA Champions League draw with last month.

Shakespeare hopes there’s a chance the Jamaica international could be ready for next weekend’s trip to Manchester City.

Shakespeare told the media on Thursday in his pre-match press conference: “He’s (Wes Morgan) definitely not going to make Watford.

He’s progressed slowly but hasn’t joined in with the squad in terms of a full training session yet. He’ll be training fully with us next week and then he’ll be in contention against Manchester City.

Meanwhile, fellow centre half Robert Huth, who picked up a knock on his ankle, has been passed fit by the City boss.

Shakespeare added: “It’s (Huth’s ankle) still swollen but he’s okay. He’s trained fully and I expect him to be fully fit and raring to go.

“We didn’t have a fully fit squad to train on Monday but thankfully everybody has trained okay today (Thursday) apart from Wes and Papy Mendy of course.”
