Morgan Brown’s 55th minute strike was not enough to prevent the Leicester City Under-18s from slipping to a 3-1 defeat by Newcastle United in U18 Premier League Group C.

The young Foxes remain in fourth place despite their second reverse of the group stage campaign after two goals from Elias Fritjof Graenge Sorensen bookended a solitary Benjamin Kitchen strike to secure all three points for the Magpies at Belvoir Drive on Saturday 29 April.

City have now won one, drawn three and lost two of their Group C fixtures to date after finishing 12th in the regulation South league table. Sidnei Tavares and Khanya Leshabela got on the scoresheet for Leicester on Saturday 15 April to secure a 2-2 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The following weekend, a trialist struck in the 55th minute to book a second point in seven days. Leicester, however, missed the chance to leapfrog Newcastle into second place on their most recent outing despite another assured performance.
