Leicester City will be without centre back pairing Wes Morgan and Robert Huth for Thursday evening’s Premier League , according to Craig Shakespeare.

German defender Huth will miss out due to an ankle injury, while skipper Morgan continues his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Danny Drinkwater, Papy Mendy and Andy King are also unavailable, but Shakespeare knows it provides other members of the squad with the chance to step in.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Shakespeare said: “Unfortunately, we’ve still got a few injuries. Wes [Morgan] won’t be okay and we’ve still got Robert Huth out. Danny Drinkwater, Papy Mendy and now Andy King joins the long list.

“We won’t be doing a lot of training next few days. We’ll be doing enough to make sure we are competitive in these two home games. The injuries have caught up with us but there’s two games left and other people will get their opportunity.”

While the Foxes have secured their top-flight status, Shakespeare says his side remain intent on finishing as high as possible in the Premier League table.

He added: “The players can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve said before about their attitude and professionalism. I expect us to have a real good go, to finish as high as we can.

“I’ve said all along that finishing strong and the momentum is definitely important. The players, the Club and the fans want to see two good performances.”
