has been called up to the England squad for the international fixtures against Germany and Lithuania this month after making a host of impressive displays for Leicester City.

The 30-year-old striker added to his first-ever UEFA Champions League goal away against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium last month with a brilliant brace to help the Foxes see off Liverpool in the Premier League and is now in contention to earn his 15th and 16th caps for his country.

After scoring against Wales at EURO 2016 last summer, Vardy grabbed his back in November. The former Fleetwood Town forward has been invaluable to Craig Shakespeare's side of late to help secure three consecutive victories.

England face world champions Germany in a high-profile friendly match at Borussia Dortmund's Westfalenstadion on Wednesday 22 March before Lithuania visit London to contest a FIFA World Cup Qualifying Group F clash with Gareth Southgate's men the following Sunday.

Elsewhere, , 28, could become the Club’s all-time record international appearance holder after being named among Chris Coleman’s Wales squad to take on the Republic of Ireland, managed by former Foxes boss Martin O’Neill, in Dublin later this month.

King equalled John O’Neill’s record of 39 caps for Northern Ireland in October meaning he could write himself into City’s history yet again after winning the top three divisional honours in English football during his long association with the Club, culminating in last year's Premier League success.

Tom Lawrence, meanwhile, currently on loan at Ipswich Town, also features among the 23-man squad for the World Cup Qualifying Group D clash with the ROI at the Aviva Stadium on Friday 24 March. Lawrence, 23, has been in fine form for the Sky Bet Championship side this season.
