Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored a late winner for the Leicester City Under-18s as they cut short Southampton’s four-game winning run to register their first win in the U18 Premier League Group C.

The young Foxes suffered a 3-1 defeat on the opening weekend of the group stage after finishing 12th in the South division earlier this season but they have since returning to winning ways with a brilliant, hard-fought victory at Belvoir Drive on Saturday.

On a blustery afternoon at City’s training ground, Trevor Peake’s men curtailed an early period of Saints pressure to emerge triumphant for the first time since an FA Youth Cup Fifth Round success at Middlesbrough back in February.

As a result, the Under-18s have climbed to sixth-place in Group C ahead of the visit of Sunderland on Saturday 1 April (11am kick-off). The goal came in the 72nd minute as Dewsbury-Hall struck from distance to secure all three points.
