Steve Beaglehole has called for a positive reaction from the Leicester City Development Squad against Chelsea on Friday following the loss to Cheltenham Town in the Checkatrade Trophy.

The Foxes fell to a 6-1 reverse to the Robins at the LCI Rail Stadium on Tuesday but they can recover immediately with the Premier League 2 encounter with Adi Viveash’s Blues at St George’s Park (1.05pm kick-off).

Beaglehole has hinted there may be changes to his starting line-up following the defeat in Gloucestershire but says whoever plays will be expected to put in a better showing as City look to get back to winning ways.

He told LCFC TV: “We want a positive reaction. There'll be changes in the team, I'm sure.

“There are players who deserve a chance and it'll be against great opposition. Technically, they'll be very, very good.

“You've still got to do the basics right. It'll be a different challenge but still a very big one.

“They're an excellent side and it's the same challenge as our first-team have on the Saturday.”
