Jurgen Klopp believes his Liverpool side must be wary of Leicester City’s ability to up their game at any time during Monday’s showdown at King Power Stadium.

The Reds boss cited Wednesday evening’s second-half performance against Sevilla as evidence of that, as the Foxes pulled back a crucial away goal through Jamie Vardy in southern Spain.

The strike saw Leicester put in a much-improved display and while beaten, Klopp feels Monday’s hosts will take confidence from their performance.

“We have to expect the best Leicester City,” said Klopp. “We saw the Champions League and the reaction after they scored. It was like two different games before and after they scored.

“Obviously they needed that goal to get confidence back. The last 15 minutes was a completely different game so we have to think about this side of Leicester – that’s difficult enough.”

Klopp went on to identify the qualities Liverpool must show against a City side that beat them 2-0 in this fixture last term.

“We want to go there and we want to be strong,” the German added. “We want to be good, lively and organised and we want to win the game – that’s no surprise.

“For this, we have to play at our best. You can imagine that we will really try to do everything.”
