Leicester City’s Under-18s recovered from two goals down to battle to a 2-2 U18 Premier League draw at Southampton on Saturday.

The Saints started well and raced into a two-goal lead inside 20 minutes thanks to strikes from Will Smallbone and Michael Obafemi.

It took just a minute to open the scoring, as Smallbone prodded home Siph Mdlalose’s cross from inside in the six-yard box.

Shortly after, Obafemi doubled the Southampton lead after converting Connor Langan’s delivery, and while the young Foxes found themselves 2-0 down, their spirit didn’t waver.

Tom Fielding, introduced with just over 20 minutes to play, curled home a brilliant goal to pull one back for his side.

That gave City the opportunity to claim a point from the game and that’s exactly what they did, as Harrison Myring netted late on for his side.
