City’s Under-18s side were cruelly edged out by Manchester City in the Barclays U18 Premier League thanks to a last minute goal from Bersant Celina.

A young Foxes side, which included both goalscorers from Wednesday’s clash with Aston Villa – Eddy Samba and Dan Rowe, gave the unbeaten hosts a real run for their money at Platt Lane.

Well organised and disciplined, City comfortably soaked up several spells of pressure from the home side during the first half, but their industrious work off the ball couldn’t earn them the break through.

After half time Manchester City continued to apply the pressure, but just as it looked like The Foxes had done enough to secure a well-deserved point, Celina struck decisively.

With just moments to play the substitute raced onto a through ball that finally unlocked City’s sturdy defence and placed an accurate finish low into the far corner to snatch the three points.
