Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson’s injury concerns have been eased as he revealed that both Ritchie De Laet and Chris Wood should be available to Saturday’s match.

The Foxes face Middlesbrough and there had been concerns for De Laet, who was substituted during the second half of City’s victory at Leeds United last week as a precaution.

But the manager revelaed ahead of a session on Thursday morning: “Ritchie is training.

“I am pleased we were able to make the change (against Leeds) before it developed into anything more sinister.

“We certainly don’t want to be picking up any hamstring strains especially for a sprinter like Ritchie.”

On New Zealand international Wood, who played 86 minutes of a 2-1 win for City’s Under-21s at West Brom on Monday, Pearson added: “Chris won’t be training today. He has a tight hamstring but I don’t think there is anything for us to be too concerned about.

“Ignasi Miquel is making good progress, so we have a relatively fit squad for Saturday.”

There was bad news elsewhere however, as the manager confirmed that defender Zoumana Bakayogo suffered a knee injury on his loan debut for Yeovil Town away at Birmingham last weekend.

He stated: “Zoumana is having an operation in a couple of weeks’ time to repair his cruciate after damaging it on loan at Yeovil.

“[Sean St. Ledger] is going to be going out to Germany for some treatment.”
