Injury Blow For Hamer

Leicester City goalkeeper Ben Hamer faces a short spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in training before Saturday’s defeat to Swansea City.
The 26-year-old summer signing, who made his Barclays Premier League debut with an inspired performance in the 1-0 win over Stoke earlier this term, was missing from the weekend’s matchday squad.

Development Squad stopper Adam Smith replaced Hamer on the bench, but speaking afterwards, manager Nigel Pearson was optimistic that the goalkeeper wouldn’t be out of action for too long.

Pearson told Foxes Player: “He had a nasty break of his finger on Friday which needed an operation. He’ll be out for a few weeks.

“It was pretty straightforward in terms of the surgery, and he’ll probably have another operation again this week, and then we’ll see how he is.

“The first prognosis would be that it will be about three or four weeks.”
