Leicester City Development Squad defender James Pearson says the three points earned against Everton on Monday at Belvoir Drive aren’t the only positive to come out of the game.

A 1-0 Barclays U21 Premier League victory over the Merseyside club, courtesy of an emphatic Chris Wood chip three minutes from time, saw the young Foxes move out of the relegation zone and up to ninth in the table.
While Pearson, captain on the afternoon, was thrilled to secure the triumph, it was the performances of Under-18s trio Ben Chilwell, Elliott Moore and Jonny Maddison that caught his eye.
All three youngsters played 90 minutes in the victory, defending resolutely in the latter stages to see out the win.
“All the lads in the dressing room were saying how outstanding they were,” said Pearson. “To come into a team with players a lot older them and to perform like that was brilliant.
“You can see why they’re such big prospects for the Club – they’ve got good careers ahead of them I’m sure.”
And Pearson insisted that concentration was the key to the victory as both sides battled with the windy and wet conditions at City’s training ground.
He added: “It’s a bit different at Belvoir Drive than playing at King Power Stadium and other grounds that we play at, but at the end of the day, we’ve just got to get our heads down.
“The conditions were tough but we’ve come out of the game with three points – we can put that behind us.”
