The Foxes were unlucky not to leave Goodison Park with all three points after coming from behind to carry a 2-1 lead into the dying stages of the match.
Steven Naismith broke the deadlock with a low drive on 56 minutes, but Nigel Pearson’s men rallied, and the introduction of forwards David Nugent and Jamie Vardy sparked a second-half comeback.
Nugent converted a loose ball two minutes after coming on before Esteban Cambiasso side-footed home from inside the Toffees’ penalty box, with both goals benefiting from Vardy’s dangerous deliveries.
And while Romelu Lukaku’s , Nugent insists that his side will remain in high spirits as they head to title-chasing Manchester City for their next fixture on Wednesday 4 March at the Etihad Stadium.
“We’ve got a good team spirit here,” Nugent told Foxes Player. “We had it last year and we’ve kept it going – it’s just the results that haven’t being going for us.
“When you’re on the bench you’ve got to come on and try and make an impact – I think I’ve done that this season. Obviously Vards (Jamie Vardy) set up the two goals – I got one, and Esteban [Cambiasso] nearly got the winner against Everton. I’m just happy to make a contribution.
“We’ve got a mini-league to ourselves now. There are 12 games left and we’ve got probably one of the toughest games coming up a week on Wednesday against Manchester City away.
“We’ve seen Burnley go there and pick up a point, so I don’t see why we can’t go there and get a positive result as well.”
