The Foxes were unable to secure a result in the end, but with four wins in their last four prior to the Chelsea fixture, they will still be have plenty of momentum heading into the weekend’s home clash with Newcastle United.
“The result is the be all and end all, and we haven’t got that so it’s obviously disappointing but we can go into Newcastle full of confidence still,” Albrighton told Foxes Player.
“We’ve just won four on the bounce, so confidence is high and we’ve not been outclassed by a team that are soon to be the champions of England, so we won’t be dropping our confidence for Saturday.”
City’s fast-paced start set the tone for the first half, and it was a display capped by a first Leicester goal for the former Aston Villa man.
He added: “I think we just came out of the box well. We’d had four wins on the bounce, and in the Premier League that is hard to come by, but we’ve managed it.
“Going into the game confidence was right up there. We put them under pressure, we did well and unfortunately in the second half they probably did that to us.
“A goal just before half time always gives you a lift. But you need to carry it on into the second half and we probably started a little bit slow and didn’t deal with their pressure in the second half. It’s a little bit disappointing, but we’ll go into Saturday still confident.
“We did show a lot of effort, especially first half, we played some great football and took the game to Chelsea. They sort of ran out of ideas in the first half. They came out of the blocks faster, got on top then were comfortable in the game.”
