City’s in-form midfielder Marc Albrighton was thrilled to be able to celebrate with the fans on Sunday after firing in a stunner during City’s 5-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.
The former Aston Villa man put City 2-0 up towards the end of the first half with a screamer to play his part in a performance fitting of what has been a phenomenal march to survival.

Albrighton has certainly played his part in that run – seven wins and a draw from their last nine – and he was delighted to be able to give the fans a thank you for their support along the way.

“It’s brilliant,” Albrighton told Foxes Player. “It's a party atmosphere. It could have gone a little bit wrong if we hadn’t applied ourselves and got the right result, but we did that and it was a good day.”

Speaking on the lap of appreciation while holding his young daughter, Albrighton reflected on a memorable day for his entire family, saying: “She has loved it. It’s a kid’s dream to come out on a field like this and run about with the other kids, so she’s loving it.

“I think I’ll have to show her my goal when she’s a bit older so that she understands, but it was brilliant for me to get a goal and I really enjoyed that one.”
