Have you just received your GCSE results and are looking at Sport Courses? You can now apply for the LCFC BTEC Level 3 Education Programme, in partnership with Leicester College.
Based at King Power Stadium’s recently-refurbished education suite, the two-year academic programme allows you to gain a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. Students have the opportunity to combine academic studies with a practical football experience. It is a pre-requisite that players must obtain four GCSEs A-C including Maths and English.

The first two years of the programme have been a huge success, with all Year 13 students going on to complete the course, all of whom have gained additional FA Coaching qualifications to support them with their next step.

Academy graduate Liam Moore said: “Over the past two years, the Futsal programme has proved to be a great way for school leavers to be part of a professional football club and compete against other pro clubs while gaining a qualification that is recognised by universities.

“The course provides a great development tool for young players. Futsal is fast paced and very technical, which can be transferable to 11-a-side football.”

Alongside the educational programme, you have the chance to play regular 11-a-side and Futsal fixtures against other regional Premier League clubs. Last year, the team reached the quarter-finals of the Soccer AM Cup while Bradley Smith has gone on to represent England Futsal at a regional level.

Star student Jack Harrison achieved a D*D*D* - the highest qualification attainable - and has successfully secured a place on a sports degree at Loughborough University. In addition three of last year’s students have gained part-time employment with the Community Trust.

Jack said: “The reason why I like the course is because I like being in a professional environment, I like working in a team and representing Leicester City FC. The Education part of the course is fantastic as it’s based at King Power Stadium which is really inspiring.”

The course has spaces available and is currently open to Year 11 and Year 12 male students who wish to be part of an exciting and unique educational programme.

Our Education programme has limited places and they always prove to be extremely popular. To avoid disappointment apply by visiting www.leicestercollege.ac.uk and use course code C4100.
