Leicester City’s Development Squad suffered their first defeat of the 2015/16 Barclays U21 Premier League campaign at the hands of a strong Norwich City side on Monday afternoon.

The Foxes could have gone in front through Harry Panayiotou and Jacob Blyth, who both threatened early on at Colney Training Centre.

But the hosts took the lead on 38 minutes through Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe. The Norwich first teamer latched onto Josh Murphy’s through-ball and finished well past goalkeeper Jonny Maddison.

Blyth threatened again shortly after but couldn’t capitalise, denied only by defiant Norwich shot-stopper Jake Kean, who joined from Blackburn Rovers in the summer.

The Canaries eventually doubled their advantage with just 16 minutes to play through Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who fired in from a tight angle to seal all three points for his side.

The defeat followed City’s 1-1 draw with 2014/15 champions Manchester United at King Power Stadium last week.

Steve Beaglehole’s outfit next take on Everton at King Power Stadium in the U21 Premier League on Monday 24 August (7pm kick-off).
