EPISODE 3 -

After two fascinating chats with members of Claudio Ranieri’s current squad – Andy King and Danny Drinkwater – it was the turn of Club Ambassador and former player Alan Birchenall to face the cameras.

A player for Leicester City from 1971-1977, Birch has gone on to achieve much more off the field in a 44-year association with Leicester City that has seen him raise more than £1,000,000 for charity.

At the age of 70 and with an MBE, the Freedom of the City and a Doctorate of Law to his name, Birch is showing no signs of slowing down, but he was happy to reveal just what keeps him going every day.

<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><em>“This Football Club energises me. It absolutely does,” </em><strong>Birch told Foxes Player HD.</strong><em>“Yes some mornings the old bones are creaking. New players come in and they haven’t a clue what I used to do. But eventually they get to know me, get to know my personality and what I’m like. That’s what I like to think. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><em>“That’s what I like to think. When I look back I don’t have any [regrets]. Funnily enough this part of my life has been the most important. Because 99 per cent of kids want to be a professional footballer, and I was lucky enough to do that. </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><em><br /></em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><em>“Now I’m lucky enough to do the next step, and I’m so proud. I think I try to do it in the best possible way. I have a laugh and a joke, be serious when there’s a serious time and try to mix it and understand people’s feelings.” </em></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >The series debuted with a profile on long-serving Academy graduate Andy King, whose footballing journey has seen him cross paths more than once with new City boss Claudio Ranieri. In his most revealing interview to date, the Welsh international midfielder revealed some of the highs and lows of his decade on Filbert Way, while describing how he feels to be breaking records for the only club he has ever played for. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >The second episode was a rare insight into the mind of the enigmatic Danny Drinkwater. One of the quieter members of the City squad in front of the cameras, Danny opened up like never before about his own development with the Foxes, his challenging early relationship with the Blue Army and how their support has helped him become an established Premier League player. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><strong>The Friday Interview will be aired every Friday afternoon, with the full version of every interview available ONLY to Foxes Player HD subscribers. </strong></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div ><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">To subscribe to Foxes Player HD now, click <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com">HERE</a>.</span></span></div><div ><a href="http://www.foxandcropclothing.co.uk" target="_blank"><img xlink:href="tcm:0-2367360" title="F&amp;C_SS15_StoryBanner" alt="F&amp;C_SS15_StoryBanner" style="width: 480px; height: 100px;" /></a><br /></div>
