A battling Barclays U18 Premier League point against West Ham United at Little Heath on Saturday saw Leicester City’s Under-18s extend their unbeaten 2015/16 run to four games.

The young Foxes have started the season in excellent form, recording victories against Swansea City and Fulham before a dominant 6-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion last time out.

Those three straight victories saw City score a total of 10 goals, and on Saturday they came up against a Hammers side that last season proved to be particularly hard to break down.

In the 2014/15 campaign, City faced the London outfit three times, drawing 0-0 away from home before beating them two times on the bounce.

In this fixture, it was West Ham who would create the first opportunity as goalkeeper Max Bramley pulled off a fine, low save to deny Idris Kanu.

Grady Diangana then struck Bramley’s crossbar from 20 yards, before Trevor Peake’s outfit created their most significant opportunity of the first half.

On 22 minutes, England Under-17s international Layton Ndukwu delivered a corner into the box that Alex Pascanu headed just over the target.

Further opportunities fell to the hosts in the second period, but a determined defensive performance from the visitors meant City continued their unbeaten start to the 2015/16 season against a West Ham side that were reduced to 10 men late on.

Next up for Peake’s youngsters is the visit of Chelsea to Belvoir Drive on Saturday 12 September (12pm kick-off).
