Leicester City's Under-18s were beaten for the first time this Barclays U18 Premier League season as Chelsea recorded a victory at Belvoir Drive on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides headed into the fixture unbeaten after four games, and it was the young Foxes who took the lead after just three minutes as midfielder Harvey Barnes fired in past Chelsea goalkeeper Nathan Baxter.

The visitors were on level terms with 20 minutes on the clock as Miro Muheim converted from the edge of the box.

But Leicester rallied and ensured they would head into the break in front as striker Admiral Muskwe collected a neat pass and slotted in to make it 2-1 with half an hour gone.

Chelsea upped their attacking intent and found another equaliser through Trevoh Chalobah, who dispatched a loose ball after the break.

And shortly after, the London outfit found a winner as Muheim set up Harvey St. Clair, who earned all three points for his side.

Reflecting on the game, Under-18s manager Trevor Peake told LCFC.com: "We started really well, which we spoke about before the game. Year on year, Chelsea are always a good outfit – they recruit from all over the world.

"We went ahead early on through Harvey Barnes, then they equalised and also hit the post. We took the lead again through Admiral Muskwe, but in the second half, they wore us down.

"They were technically very good, and all our efforts that we poured in were eventually undone. We’re quite a small squad this year and we’ve had a couple of injuries.

"It was good to see Kairo Arlott-John up from the Under-16s for his first appearance for the Under-18s and he had a very good game, playing 60 minutes.

"It was good for him to get a taste of what it’s like to play for the Under-18s, especially against Chelsea. It’s set to be a good season in terms of experience for the younger lads, certainly."
