Leicester City’s Development Squad recorded their third-consecutive pre-season victory after beating Nuneaton Town 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In preparation for their Premier League 2 campaign, City followed up their wins against Ilkeston and Fakenham Town with another positive result at Liberty Way.

Included in Steve Beaglehole’s starting XI were first teamers Ben Hamer, Ritchie De Laet, Gokhan Inler and Tom Lawrence, who all benefitted from some valuable minutes on the pitch.

It took just 11 minutes for the Foxes to open the scoring, as defender Darnell Johnson found the bottom corner.

And City doubled their lead in the second period through Lawrence, whose powerful free kick beat Nuneaton stopper Zeus De La Paz to wrap up the win.

Next up for Beaglehole’s Development squad is a clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Belvoir Drive on Tuesday 26 July (12pm KO).
