The Foxes welcomed back a number of players that had been involved with the Under-21s Development Squad’s 2-1 win over Birmingham last week as preparation for Wednesday night’s FA Youth Cup clash away to Hull City continued.
Captain Rob Paratore returned, as did Jamie Anton, striker Harry Panayiotou and Eddy Samba, while Joe Dodoo started on the bench.
After surging into a two-goal lead courtesy of Harry Panayiotou, the visitors hit back with a Danny Elliott brace and a David Arrowsmith strike to make it 3-2.
The Foxes battled back however and secured a share of the points with 15 minutes left on the clock when Simone Stankevicius dragged them back level to avoid what would have been an undeserved defeat.
Academy Director Jon Rudkin was pleased with aspects of the performance, adding afterwards: “It was a good start to the game from us really and we had good bits of play.
“We went 2-0 up early on - Harry Panayiotou put us ahead, and then got the second goal as well which was pleasing.
“However it was 2-2 by half time, and unfortunately we then went 3-2 down.
“After going behind in the second half the lads did well to respond, and we managed to get that late equaliser when we scored through Simone Stankevicius to get the point, so all credit to the team.”
