Wes Morgan says there has been a visible development in the Leicester City squad’s fitness since they began training in Velden two days ago.

- Leicester City have made good progress at their Austrian training camp, says Wes Morgan
- The Foxes are into their third full day in Velden, with a bike ride and recovery session occupying Wednesday morning’s schedule
- The skipper is enjoying the competitiveness of his side’s intensive training sessions

Surrounded by towering trees and drenched in sun, the Foxes have battled against the heat and humidity throughout four intense sessions across Monday and Tuesday.

While they are still adapting to the climate in southern Austria, Morgan believes his team-mates have made good progress as the trip reaches its midway point.

Speaking exclusively to LCFC TV, the captain said: “We’re still acclimatising to it so it’s been very, very tough, but that’s to be expected. It’s our second session of the day so hopefully they’ll take it a little easier on us, but it’s tough.

Next week we go to Hong Kong and we’ve got games out there, so it’s getting competitive now, but it’s enjoyable at the same time.

“We’re starting to adjust to it now. It’s very hot and I think with the constant football and training, our bodies will still be adapting to it.

“We’ve been doing very well. We trained all last week and we’ve come into this week now, so you can see the improvements that we’ve made.”

There was a real competitive edge to training on Tuesday and while Wednesday will provide City with some downtime following a morning bike ride and recovery session, Morgan knows there’s still plenty of work to do.

The skipper gets himself ready for a training drill on Tuesday.

He added: “The balls are out a lot this week and we’re starting to get a good feel of it. The competitive element is starting to come back into it, which is good.
