At the Staplewood Campus on Saturday, the young Foxes commenced the new campaign in style ahead of their maiden home clash against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.

Trevor Peake’s men, who finished last term’s regulation phase in 12th place, were determined to begin the 2017/18 campaign positively.

Ahead of a gruelling 10 months which will also include the newly-established Premier League Cup at U18s level, it was vital to get points on the board early on.

Thandi, a highly-regarded wing-back, scored City’s first goal of the season in the 43rd minute before midfielder Brown made sure of the result just after the hour-mark.

Either side of pre-season, which included the Generali Cee Cup in Prague, the Foxes have now won their last two competitive outings, following a 3-2 success over West Bromwich Albion last May.
