Craig Shakespeare has called on Leicester City to get off to a flying start at King Power Stadium against Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

- Leicester City must start on the front foot against Liverpool, says manager Craig Shakespeare
- The Foxes entertain the Reds for the second time in five days hoping to replicate Tuesday’s 2-0 Carabao Cup triumph
- Shakespeare wants his men to focus on their strengths during the evening kick-off on Saturday

The Foxes burst out of the blocks in the second half against the Reds during their 2-0 win on Tuesday evening and the Leicester boss wants more of the same from his men this weekend.

Despite a run of four games without a victory in all competitions, Liverpool have shown how lethal they can be in front of goal this term and Shakespeare knows they can be a formidable opponent.

“We’re aware of their offensive strengths and we know what they’re about, but it’s important we concentrate on our strengths,” says the City manager.

“We know from the other night the problems that they can cause, in terms of the front three, whoever they maybe be.

“It’s important that we concentrate on our strengths, which is sometimes taking things to the opposition early doors rather than waiting for it to happen.

“The formula for us is to play on the front foot. We have to be competitive, but in terms of Liverpool, you analyse the strengths and weaknesses of every team and our team is picked accordingly.”

Replicating this week’s win over Jurgen Klopp’s men will not be easy for the 2015/16 Premier League champions, but they can be buoyed by their response last time out.

Shakespeare added: “It’s pleasing that everyone got game time but also there were some good performances. I spoke about the first half performance and how we had to ride our luck, which we did.

“In terms of the second half performance and playing on the front foot, the players responded and that can give us a lot of confidence going forward into Saturday. We know it’ll be a completely different game.

“It’s one result, we know that. One result doesn’t make it, so we have to make sure we have some consistency in our play. It was always the aim to try and progress in the cup and this time it’s a league game, so the aim is three points.”
