- Steve Beaglehole's men have made an assured start to the new season
- City next face Carlisle United in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening (7:45pm KO)

At King Power Stadium on Wednesday evening, Sam Hughes, Darnell Johnson and Admiral Muskwe found the net to help the Foxes overcome Hertha in the Premier League International Cup.

"We’re really pleased, it was always going to be a tough night against German opposition, who are well-organised and well-drilled,” Petty told LCFC TV at full-time.

“I thought the lads did really well tonight. We practise set plays religiously before a game. We’ve worked really hard this season to be harder to play against.”

Overall, Petty has been delighted with the improved results of this season with City carrying an increased threat in front of goal and managing to keep their opposition at bay.

“We’ve been more solid, we have kept more clean sheets and that work is coming to fruition now,” he added, following Leicester’s second successive clean sheet.

This International Cup allows you to pay at the stadiums against foreign opposition and we have all enjoyed it. We’re delighted with their progress.
