The Japan striker scored City’s second during a 2-1 victory over the Swans at Liberty Stadium, after Federico Fernandez turned the ball into his own net earlier on.

While Alfie Mawson narrowed the arrears for the hosts after the interval, the Foxes, under the stewardship of Caretaker Manager Michael Appleton, stood firm to secure all three points.

During his LCFC TV debrief, Okazaki said: “Today was a good performance. We fought today and we got the result. It was a good defence, we are very good defensively.

“We also performed well in attack. Altogether we played compact, so we can be happy. Every time I have come here, it is rainy and a difficult situation but we did well.”

The 31-year-old has now scored five goals in all competitions this term after scoring just three in the Premier League during 2016/17.

“I want to score more than last season,” he added.

“I was disappointed then but I have improved this season inside the box. I am getting chances and I keep motivation to score.

“[It was a] great ball for me [from Riyad Mahrez] and it was easy to score but important for me and for the team.

“Away games are important because last season was not so good. In this season we want more points and today we won so we have positives to take from an away game.”
